Rex and Jeanne Sinquefield have dedicated their lives and their philanthropy to assisting those in need, making our neighborhoods safer, developing opportunities for lifelong learning, and creating innovative cultural and educational projects that help to define and improve our communities.
After his father passed away unexpectedly, Rex spent several years as a young child living at St. Vincent Home for Children. His deep appreciation for the support, structure and guidance that he received there through a challenging time for his family, along with his compassion and empathy for at-risk youth has compelled him to become a major supporter.
Communities derive a sense of self from those things which people see as defining their city. St. Louisans define themselves by institutions and exceptional programs. Rex has committed significant financial resources and time to many of these institutions. He serves on the boards of Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri History Museum, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis Symphony, Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis and St. Louis Chess Club and the World Chess Hall of Fame.
Rex and Jeanne provide substantial support to The Today and Tomorrow Education Foundation (TTEF). Their support helped TTEF leverage it to the tune of $12 million and provide 3000 scholarships.
Rex Sinquefield generously supports the dual MA(Ed)/MBA (Master of Arts in Education Administration and Master of Business Administration) program at Saint Louis University.
The St. Louis Police Foundation mission is to support the important and difficult work of the St. Louis Metropolitan and St. Louis County Police Departments through the donation of funds, services and goods.
